Discipline To-Do List

Oh no! You played an OCSL game and got a card! Wondering what to do now? Here is a quick summery of what will happen now. More information can be found to the left.

Yellow Card

You received a yellow card, and you wondering now what?

Depending on how many yellow cards you have received this season, you might be looking at a suspension.

If this is your first, second, or fourth yellow card this season then there is no suspension.

If this is your third, fifth or sixth (or more) yellow then you are looking at a suspension. You can check the list of penalties on our website for more details. You will be receiving a notice of suspension from the office. Wait to serve your suspension until you have this notice! The notice will tell you which game number you are to sit out.

Why do you have to wait? Ontario Soccer has certain rules about how much notice you must be given of your suspension. The game you serve will be after this amount of time has passed.

Red Card

Oh a red card? You did something serious!

After the game the Referee will fill out a Red Card report. This, along with the game sheet has to sent to the OCSL office by the Referee. Once the office reviews these and assigns a charge to the misconduct. We suggest you call or email the Discipline Administrator to find out what the report says and what the charge will be.

You can request a hearing on your card. You must do this within 72 hours of the game. You must submit this in writing  and there is an administrative fee ($100) that will be returned if your found not guilty. The Discipline Administrator will then contact you to schedule your hearing. The OCSL hosts their hearings on Wednesday Nights.

If you do not request a hearing on your card, after the 72 hours the penalty will be applied and your Team Official will be sent a notice of suspension. Wait to serve your suspension until you have this notice!

Please Note: There are some charges that automatically require a hearing. If your charge is one of these, your Team Official will be contacted to schedule the hearing.
