Government of Ontario lifts capacity limits in select settings

Ontario Soccer continues to work in consultation with Canada Soccer and the Government of Ontario, as we prepare for Return to Play 2021. Ontario Soccer will keep the membership updated with the most recent developments surrounding the public health crisis as it relates to our sport.

The Government of Ontario announced late today that they are cautiously lifting capacity limits in select settings effective tomorrow October 9, 2021.

Ontario Soccer has reviewed the announcement, as it relates to organized team sports and are advising of the following:

  • Spectator areas of facilities for organized team sports may now return to 100 per cent capacity.

All other previous Return to Play guidelines remain in place.

Organizations are reminded to consult with their local Public Health Units to determine the specific application of guidelines in your region.

Ontario Soccer will provide further information when the Return to Play Guide has been updated and we receive answers to our sport specific questions from the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism Culture Industries.
